David Mendez

Managing Partner

David joined Good Growth from Capital A Partners (“CapA”), where he was a Co-Founder and Managing Partner. CapA was the first VC in South Carolina and has returned over 9x to its investors. He also served as a Managing Director for the Techstars/Arcadis City of 2030 Accelerator (SmartCity focused) in Amsterdam, and was the NYC and London-based Managing Director at Katalyst Venture Partners, a MediaTech-focused fund. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, David co-founded then successfully sold VC-backed B2B supply chain software company Supplybase.inc in 2000, with NEA as the lead investor. David spent the first 10 years of his career in several operational roles in engineering, business development and sales with GE, DuPont and Conoco, in the U.S. and U.K. where he managed the sales, technical development and distribution of advanced materials into the Electronics Hardware, Medical Device, Automotive, and Consumer Products sectors. He serves as a board member at Ateios, NALA Membranes, and MFNS and is a board observer at Boston Materials and Lemurian Labs. He has served on the Sr. Advisory Board for the College of Business at Clemson University, as well as on the Advisory Board for Clemson’s Spiro Center of Entrepreneurship and continues to guest lecture at Clemson and other Universities including the Rotterdam School of Business. David has significant international experience, including working with Conoco in the UK, Katalyst Venture Partners in the UK, Techstars in the Netherlands, and spending his 2nd year of MBA studies at KUL-Leuven (Belgium). David received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University, and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC Chapel Hill.
